 SAFETY RECALL NOTICE

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Scott Fetzer Consumer Brands is voluntarily recalling WAYNE WaterBUG GLOW Multi-Use Water Removal Pumps because water intrusion in the electrical circuit board can pose a fire, burn, or electrical shock hazard.

Hazard:  Fire, Burn, or Electrical Shock

Recalled Product:  WAYNE WaterBUG GLOW Multi-Use Pump sold between July 2019–March 2021.  This recall does not affect other WaterBUG models.

Remedy:  Immediately stop using the product and contact Wayne/Scott Fetzer Company d/b/a Scott Fetzer Consumer Brands for replacement information.

What is the reason for the recall?

In certain units, water has gotten into the electrical circuit board, which could cause a circuit short. This could create a fire, burn, or electrical shock hazard.

Have there been any reported injuries?

The Company recently received two reports of minor injury. The Company is recalling these products out of an abundance of caution.

How do I tell if I have one of the recalled WaterBUG units?

The only product affected by this recall is the WAYNE WaterBUG GLOW Multi-Use Pump, Model WWB Glow, 1/6 HP. If you have a WaterBUG GLOW unit, it is covered by this recall. If you have a standard WaterBUG unit or a WaterBUG AUTO unit, it is not affected by this recall.  See the Models below for more information:

How do I learn more about the recall?

Recall notices are posted on the Consumer Safety Product Commission’s website at www.cpsc.gov and on Scott Fetzer Consumer Brands’ website at www.waynepumps.com/waterbugglowrecall.

What should I do if I have one of the recalled WaterBUG GLOW units?

Stop using it immediately, unplug it from the wall, and remove it from the water. Call (844) 369-2149 for questions about disposing of the unit and obtaining a replacement.

What is the Company doing to correct the problem?

The Company will replace any affected unit with a WaterBUG AUTO unit or, if you would prefer, a standard WaterBUG unit. If your unit is one of those included in the recall, please give me your name, mailing address, phone number, and email address and we will send you a replacement.

 Can I return my WaterBUG GLOW to the store or retail seller where   purchased it?

No. Your retail seller is not able to accept returned WaterBUG GLOW units or to provide you with a refund under this recall program.  To obtain a replacement WaterBUG, please submit a request online or call (844) 369-2149.

I no longer have a receipt for my WaterBUG GLOW.  Can I still participate in the recall program?

Yes. To obtain a replacement WaterBUG, please submit a request online or call (844) 369-2149.

Can I repair my WaterBUG GLOW myself?

No. We urge you not to attempt to repair the product yourself.  The Company cannot be responsible for injuries caused by repairs to the product made by you or anyone else.

How long will it take for me to get my replacement WaterBUG unit?

We will mail your replacement WaterBUG within 3 business days.
